Jenkins is the Chairman of Gibbs Technologies.
Neil Jenkins has a background firmly rooted in engineering and business
management. He distinguished himself working for British Aerospace
on the high-performance Tornado fighter-jet and the Advanced Tactical
Fighter project. Whilst at British Aerospace, Neil was a Principal
Engineer and Project Manager on the Eurosat, Immarsat and L-Sat
satellite projects along with the Hughes Aircraft Company, the Jet
Propulsion Laboratory and a variety of European Aerospace companies.
Beyond aerospace, Jenkins was a Senior Research Engineer at Leyland
Vehicles plc, working on a number of advanced vehicle projects and
concepts. He was also Business Unit Manager of Pilkington Bros.
Plc where he was heavily involved with a variety of defence vehicle
projects.
In 1989, Jenkins established Loades Design, a vehicle design company,
as part of Loades plc where he managed projects such as design,
engineering, tooling and manufacture of vehicles such as the Jaguar
XJ220, Aston Martin DB7 Cabriolet, MGRV8, RR Limousines and concepts for DAF
Trucks, JCB and Military 4WD vehicles.
In 1994, Jenkins established his own company specialising in lightweight
vehicle technology, Krafthaus. Customers included Pininfarina, Rolls
Royce, Rover (MG), Land Rover and Norsk Hydro. He merged his business
with Gibbs Technologies in 1999.
Neil Jenkins is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a member
of the Society of Engineers.
